As we see it, problems concerning animals in Poland and many other European countries are too often ignored or swept under the carpet as people are buried in a persistent continuing fight for political power, influence and financial prosperity. When finally ‘recognised’ those difficult problems may be used only as a political football. In our team we want to work hard and always remember our motto: 'If you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything'. FP4A (The Foundation - People for Animals) intends to become involved in a variety of urgent issues with a primary aim of reducing the pain, fear and loneliness that animals feel.

Working on our long-term goals, though, FP4A wants to focus its attention on two main concerns. The first area can be portrayed as ‘education and general awareness‘ and the second as an active involvement in popularising, financing and enforcing some badly neglected programmes such as birth control or reducing the number of homeless animals by making micro chipping programmes work. The last one was introduced in Poland a few years ago. Many animals have been chipped but the database has never been completed and consequently the whole effort has been wasted.

So to put it bluntly we want to educate people in Poland and outside the country, positively affecting their attitudes and lifestyles to make them aware that they can make a difference for animals and that the choice is theirs. The important thing is to tell them and show them that everyone can do something, not just assume that someone else will take care of it. Step in and speak up! We want to involve children and give them the resources they need to fight for their animal friends by offering free lesson plans, downloadable activity sheets, fact sheets, an animal-friendly reading list, posters, and other resources. We want to involve teachers and others working with children. Our mission is public education and awareness. Making all these difficult topics an everyday issue for as many people as possible will become FP4A’s main goal. We want to get more and more people on ‘our side’ and to become so strong that our voice will be heard and will matter to many more.

To summarise I would like emphasize that our dream is to eliminate sources of trouble, to prevent rather than fix, to ensure the safety of stray animals. We trust people can make this dream come true.

We understand that to do all this we need both: enthusiasm and money. We do have an endless supply of enthusiasm and now we are working on establishing a good way of getting sound financial support. We want to do that through organising special events, public action, celebrity involvement, and financial support from the local authorities and kind-hearted companies willing to assist FP4A in achieving its goals.
